It also includes a walkthrough for the story mode section of the game, as well as notes on using the included paint and print studio, which you use to create your own Stuart Little designs. Enjoy! Also, this is my first attempt at a large FAQ so don't get annoyed if it is not up to FAQ writer's standard. ========================================================================== --3-- System Requirements --3-- ========================================================================== It's one of the things that I hate, when you buy a PC game only to find that it won't play on your computer because it needs a better graphics card or a sound processor or something similar. Just in case you buy this game and find that it doesn't work, here is a list of all of the minimum system requirements, so you know why it won't play. ====== Minimum System Requirements ====== Operating system - Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP Processor - Pentium 133MHz or higher Memory - 32MB RAM Hard Disk Space - 50MB Free CD-ROM Drive - 4x Speed Video - 2MB Windows 95 or higher compatible SVGA video card* Sound - Windows 95 or higher compatible 16-bit sound card* DirectX - DirectX version 6.0 (included) or higher Mouse - Any * indicates that device should be compatible with DirectX version 6.0 or higher. ========================================================================== --4-- Starting the Game --4-- ========================================================================== Note on starting - You must have the disk in the disk tray to play this game. Double click on the Stuart Little Adventures icon to start the game. If you do not have DirectX installed on your computer, click yes on the menu that appears. If you already have it, the menu will not appear. Instead, you will bring the the opening sequence. After the introduction screen, a screen will appear titled the 'Sign-in' screen. The next available slot for signing inis automatically highlighted for you to click on. To sign in, enter your name then click the GO button. If you have signed in before and see your name on the list, click on your name, then click on the GO button. If all ten slots are full, Stuart Little will ask you to elect a name or erase a name to enter a new one. You can exit te game by clicking on the Exit button at the bottom right of the screen. ========================================================================== --5-- The Main Menu --5-- ========================================================================== After you sign in, you will be taken to a screen showing the Little family's living room, which is the main menu. You'll meet Snowball, the Little's cat, who is the host of the game. Snowball will tell you the story of Stuart Little and his adventures, and help you through-out the game. Here is a crude map of the living room, with a key to tell you what everything is and does. ________________________________________________________ | | | | This is in no |__ _______ ___| way an accurate | | | I | / | drawing of the | | _|_____|____ / | room, but it | | ______ | | | | gives you the |A | | G | | | | | general idea | |__ ____ |____| | | | H | of where things | | | | | _______________|___ | | | are. At the bottom right corner there is a small green question mark. Click on this to access the help screen, which has various hints and techniques that will help you beat the story mode of this game. ========================================================================== --6-- The High Score Screen --6-- ========================================================================== To enter the high score screen, click on the trophy on the main menu. In this screen, you can view the top ten high scores from each game. It records the top scores both in story mode, and free play mode. There are six icons along the left hand side of the screen. These represent the five games plus an overall total in story mode. To view the individual scores for each game, click on the corrisponding icon. To return to the general scores screen or the main menu, click on the 'Return to the scores screen' and the 'Return to the main menu' buttons accordingly. ========================================================================== --7-- Modes of Play --7-- ========================================================================== There are two modes of play in this game. One is a story mode which follows the tale of Stuart Little. This game has five shorter games in it which can be played seperately by clicking on the corrisponding icons at the main menu. When you play each game on it's own, this is called 'Free play' mode. When you complete story mode, your overall score is created from the five game scores which is then added to the high scores list, if it is good enough. In between games in story mode, Snowball the cat narrates the story as you try to win each game. You can skip each sequence by clicking anywhere on the screen to fast forward top the next game. ========================================================================== --8-- The Games and their controls --8-- ========================================================================== There are five games to be played in this game. Each game is entirely different, with a racing game, a sailing game, a 2-D platformer style game, and a golf game. Each of the game controls are different, so I will try to explain them in this section: ------------ Regatta Race ------------ In this game, you are in charge of a model sailing ship, the Wasp. You have to try and win the boat race without hitting othere ships and staying inside of the red and green markers. Click on the GO button to start the race, and a commentator will shout "Three, two, one, GO!". To add another element to the game, you are racing against the clock. A timer is displayed in the top corner of the screen, and if you do not complete the race within the time limit, you will have to start again. You get points by sailing between the markers and you lose points for hitting obstacles. To control the vessel, hold down the left mouse button to speed up, and let it go to slow down. To turn, hold the left and right buttons on your keyboard. -------------- Park Challenge -------------- This game is a very simple racing game. You must help him gather batteries to make him go faster and flashlights to scare away cats. You'll also need to avoid items such as slime and drainpipes. The game ends when you reach the gates of the park or when your car runs out of batteries. Speed up the car by holding down the left mouse button and release it to slow down. Move the mouse up and down to avoid rocks and other items. To avoid an approaching cat, pick up a flashlight by making contact with it. If you can't get a flashlight, you will have to avoid the cat, which can be tricky. You also need to pick up batteries or else the car will slow to a halt. If you run out of electricity, the car stops and you lose the game. You get bonus points for picking up the four leaf clover and the car horn. ------------- Big Mini Golf ------------- In this game, you have to putt balls into their holes in a long game of golf. Click the go button to begin. You will see Stuart standing on the course, with a putter in his hand. Your mouse controls a directional arrow which you move left and right to control which way the ball goes. Aim the arrow at the hole in the wall and hold down the mouse button. The longer you hold it down, the more power the shot has. Release the mouse button to watch the ball go soaring through the wall and out of the other side. Now the camera takes on an overhead view. You only have a limited number of putts so try and make each ball fall down the hole as quickly as possible. After nine courses, the game will end, and you will receive your score. ------------------------ Electric Train Adventure ------------------------ In this game, you have to help Stuart take the toy train through the minature village and avoid blockades. Click on the GO button to start. Race against the clock to navigate the track and pick up as many red flags as possible. Pick up swirling rockets to get a speed boost. To win the game, you must get the train through the maze of tracks to the different landmarks. When all flagged landmarks have been reached, exit at the right of the screen. When the train hits an obsticle, it spins round 180 degrees and continues in the opposite direction. To switch tracks, click on the small button beside each track. There is an arrow which shows which route the train will take. ------------ Pantry Chase ------------ In this game, Stuart is being chased around the kitchen by Monty the cat. Help move Stuart past different obstacles and kitchen gadgets. Click on Stuart to make him jump. Click on an object to activate it, and click and drag Stuart to make him move left or right. You win the game if you get stuart through the window before the timer runs out. A full walkthrough for this game will be shown in the Walkthrough section of this guide. ========================================================================== --9-- The Walkthrough --9-- ========================================================================== This is the walkthrough for Story Mode of the Game. I have already shown how to play and beat some of the games, so in the walkthrough, I will just say something like, play the golf game, or something similar. You start off with a long introduction scene, and then you get to play the Electric train adventure. After you beat this game, there is another long scene, where George and Stuart build the Wasp, then head off for the regatta race. This game is harder to beat in story mode than it is in free play mode, however, even with the addition of other yauhts, the game still is simple. Beat the game, get your score, then sit back and enjoy another long scene with the narrator, Snowball the cat. After the long cut scene is finished, the next game starts up. It is the pantry game where you are discovered by Monty the cat. After a short cutscene, race right as fast as you can untill you come to an open dishwasher. You have to run over the lower level between squirts of water so after a squirt has gone off in the left side of the dishwasher, run into the centre. A splash will come in the right side of the dishwasher so wait for that to finish then run the full way across. Now, you will come to a large set of pantry drawers. Help Stuart reach the top rack of the dishwasher by clicking on the open drawers to make him jump on to them. He cannot jump onto a drawer if the one above it is open. Once he has reached the upper dishwasher rack, repeat the same process as before to get across. Jump over the dish towel, and across the counter top to the sink. Click on the fan to start the sponges moving about. Starting at the right hand side of the sink, jump on to the wet sponge. Make sure it is close enough because if you touch the water you will have to start at the beginning of the pantry game again. When the sponge you are on approaches the other sponge, jump between them, wait until the sponge reaches the left side of the sink, and jump off on to the counter top. This part is easy. Walk along the counter, jumpimg over the knives, forks, spoons, and toasters. Once you reach the end of the table, jump on to the shelf but watch out. A box of crackers has toppled over and the crackers are spilling on to the shelf. They all roll towards you, so jump over them to reach the other side. Jump up the pile of boxes to reach the window then jump out. There is now a cutscene where you get kidnapped and taken to the golf course, where you escape. For some reason or other, you decide to stop and have a round of golf before you go. Play the golf game and leave in the car before viewing another cutscene where the cats start chasing you. You now have to play thePark challenge which is the easiest game of the lot. There is one cat which jumps out at you and there is a flashlight right in front of you. You shouldn't have too many problems. After you complete thie game, you have to vuew the final cutscene, in which Stuart is reunited with the Littles. If you get a high score, you are automatically taken to the high score screen, where you are asked to enter your name. ========================================================================== --10-- The Print Studio --10-- ========================================================================== To access the print studio, click on the photos on the main menu. In the studio, you can create your own pictures, as well as print out empty pictures for you to colour in. Use the left and right arrow keys to select the picture you want to print, then select the print button. ========================================================================== --11-- Contact Details --11-- ========================================================================== If you wish to cotact me about errors in the guide, or if you wish to host this guide on your site, e-mail me at: bodobodot1@yahoo.co.uk Please mention the name of the guide in the e-mail or it will not be opened.
